Milton Painted

The Brief

Our brief was to come up with a kitchen that had a Mark Wilkinson feel but at a more affordable price. The project required extensive building work to a barn conversion, but the end result was worth it. The client wanted to bring the countryside view into her home and this was achieved through the elegant large French windows at the end of the dining space. The natural travertine flooring helps bring the outside in, and creates a flow through the kitchen.

Budget: £25k - £30K

Includes: Kitchen units, granite worktops, appliances, utility, flooring, lighting and installation.

Designer's Tips

Achieve a country feel with a mix of summery colours, accessorise with crockery, painted chairs, and open shelving, not forgetting a comfortable place for the dog next to the range cooker!

Avant Beige

The Brief

To create a stylish, social and practical kitchen for this 2 bedroom home. Although there was often a lot of entertaining in this house there was no need for excessive cooking appliances as on a day to day basis there were only 1 or 2 people there. It was important to this customer that the all elements of the project could be under taken from replacing the floor, plastering, electrics to decoration as they work long hours and have limited time.

Budget: £12k - £15k

Includes: Kitchen units, complete storage solutions, appliances, Corian worktops, flooring, heating, lighting, installation, electrics, plumbing and decorating.

Designer's Tips

Use a contrasting plinth and carcase colour to give depth and interest to your kitchen. Also using a combination oven microwave allows you to have the flexibility of 2 appliances whilst keeping the cost down and worksurfaces clear.
